It takes considerable time and effort to create a blog that sets you apart from other bloggers on the internet and makes people really want to engage with it.
There are important things you can do to make your blog stand out from the crowd, and thereby encourage your readers to revisit and read your latest content.
That’s the reason why today I’m sharing with you these 10 awesome blogging tools that I actually use myself, in order to both drive more traffic to my blog and encourage more engagement.
Let’s get started…
10 Blogging Tools To Drive Traffic & Engagement
The number one thing responsible for driving traffic to your blog and also creating engagement is your content. Everything begins and ends with your content.
Quora is the most popular ‘questions & answers’ website in the world and there are thousands of people posting their questions on Quora every day.
That’s the reason why Quora is the perfect place for you to find new content ideas.
This popular website can be the perfect tool to help you find the types of questions that your audience is asking, questions that you can answer later with a killer blog post.
Search for keywords and topics related to your blog’s focus, and you’ll find many questions that you can answer with your next piece of content.
This is an awesome tool in which you only need to type in any keyword that you might want to write about, and it will immediately give you many ideas of long-term keywords that you can optimize your content for.
Optimizing your content for long-tail keywords can help you get a ton of traffic to your blog, and if you really want to increase your traffic from search engines, long-tail keywords are the only way in which you’ll ever rank for something on Google.
Since we’re discussing traffic right now, you can see how I was able to increase my blog traffic by almost 3x in the last 60 days–using long-tail keywords was one of my main strategies.
This is definitely one of my favorite blogging tools, and I figure that you can already imagine what this tool does. Yes, it helps you generate blog title ideas.
The title of a blog post is possibly at least as important as the content that’s in the blog article itself.
A big reason for this is because few will want to read a blog article if the title is super boring and it doesn’t quickly grab their attention.
I find this tool to be very helpful because sometimes it’s just not very easy to come up with a creative blog title that will catch people’s eyes as soon as they see it.
Now, I want to make one thing clear. I’m not saying that you should type in a word on this tool, and then just use any of the blog title ideas with your blog post, this is just to help you generate more ideas.
This one is probably a tool that you’ve never heard of in the past and that’s fine, I’ve just discovered this tool recently, but I have to say I love it.
MyBlogU can help you create many pieces of epic content without going through the hassle that it will normally involve creating them for your blog.
MyBlogU is a blogging collaboration platform in which you can post blog interviews for other bloggers to answer after which you can create a roundup article.
You can also post your blog post ideas for other people to contribute to by giving you ideas that can improve your content.
Another great feature is where you answer other bloggers interviews in order to be featured in their roundups and get useful links to your blog.
This helps with both traffic and authority for your site.
This wonderful blogging tool can help you in all the following areas:
- Link building
- Creating Epic Content
- Driving Targeted traffic to your blog
- Building your blog’s authority
- Getting more Social Media exposure
- Connecting with other bloggers
Experienced bloggers already know about the importance of using high-quality images in order to make their content more appealing and also improve their readership.
People are very visual, therefore a great image will always have a positive impact.
That’s why I use these great tools in order to find free stock images that have no copyright, so I can freely use them anywhere I want without getting sued for copyright infringement (a very real possibility these days.)
You simply visit any of these two sites, do a topic search for any image that you’re looking for, and it will immediately show you thousands of free images that you can use even commercially.
Here we have yet another one of my favorite blogging tools.
Canva makes my life so easy that I really don’t know what I would do without it.
This great site helps you create beautiful graphics and designs without having any knowledge of image editing whatsoever.
This is where I design every featured image for my blog posts, and it also helps me create amazing ‘pins’ to share on Pinterest.
In fact you can use this tool to create images for any social network, as it allows you to create different size images that would be optimal for each one.
(I use PicMonkey myself, but gather Canva is very similar – Justin.)
These two are, with no doubts, the best social sharing plugins available for WordPress and other platforms.
Although Sumo has many other features such as email signup forms, and they’re really good at that too.
Social Warfare and Sumo make it simple for your readers to be able to share their content, thus greatly increasing the possibility that they’ll do so.
I use both of these plugins on my own site, but you have probably seen many other good sites using them as well.
This is an awesome tool that I’ve started to use just recently, but I quickly fell in love with it and it has become one of my favorite blogging tools so far.
ViralContentBee is a social sharing platform in which you can upload your own content for other people to share with their own networks, after you’ve earned points by sharing their content.
Let’s say you have 3000 followers on Twitter, by getting your content shared by other members of VCB you’re able to reach 100,000 or even more followers.
And apart from Twitter, you can have your content shared on Pinterest, Google+, Facebook and Linkedin.
Here you have another one on the list of my favorite blogging tools.
Tailwind is simply an incredible resource which I especially use to get traffic from Pinterest.
Tailwind is also apparently great to schedule posts on Instagram and increase your followers count there, but I have really never tried it with Instagram because Pinterest is really a huge traffic referrer for me.
The method by which Tailwind can help you get a ton of traffic is by joining different Tailwind ‘Tribes’, in which you’ll be able to add your own Pins to be seen and re-shared by other members, in your own turn sharing other members content in your own Pinterest boards.
At this time, Pinterest is actually my second most important source of traffic, and I owe it all to Tailwind.
Last, but not least, and also included on my list of favorite blogging tools to increase comments and engagement on your blog, we have this Free plugin developed by one of my colleagues.
This plugin gives you an easy way to show appreciation to your readers and commenters so that they always want to come back for more engagement and comments.
The plugin will help you generate a monthly report with a blog post in which you list and thank everyone who came to your blog and dropped a nice comment that was worth your approval.
What other blogging tools do you use in order to increase your blog traffic and engagement?
